Does Auto Insurance Cover Hail?

Other than collision (Comprehensive) coverage is optional under the Family Auto Policy. Other than collision coverage provides payment for loss or damage to a covered auto from any cause except collision with another vehicle, object or the roadbed, or upset, subject to exclusions. The following causes of loss are considered other than collision:

• Missiles or falling objects
• Fire
• Theft or larceny
• Explosion or earthquake
• Windstorm
• Hail, flood or water
• Malicious mischief or vandalism;
• Riot or civil commotion;
• Contact with bird or animal;
• Breakage of glass; or,
• Operation of car wash equipment
